26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Know what you mean, but stats won't back your claim, and you maybe didn't listen to Pep.

I don't need stats mate I know Cherki did more yesterday than Savinho has ever done at City, and i don't hang on Peps every word this isn't the scouse and we are not a cult.

The less games Savinho plays for City the better we will be.

Yup, 100% confidence topic.

Sav has a contract til 2031 and Pep certainly won't come out and say "he's turd" like our top pundits on here...

Pep wants to "help" players, and that's his job. As soon as Pep doesn't see any positive development he'll change his stance. Not yet.

Btw, Cherki is even more lazy helping out at the back.
Watch him, it's painful.
As soon as Cherki doesn't deliver up front, his defensive outright denial will be in the spot light.
Cherki has 5 times as many assists though, in less minutes

As with Fulham, nothing wrong with his cameo again but some will always find something to slag him off about and when there is nothing, it'll be that.

He was on as fresh legs to rest others with the game won under instructions to help the side not fuck this up. No different to marmoush or ake or Lewis or reijnders.

He needs to go out on loan at a lower level club to regain his confidence, he’s way off it at the moment can’t even do the basic things,

…but he’s still young so has time on his side, when KDB was 21 he was viewed as average, but he became a legend!

Shame he didnt "dig his heels in" quite so much about Grealish and others. Pep seems to like the wide eyed, subservient, passive types.
The slack he cuts this liability is admirable I suppose.

When KDB was injured last season.. and Pep was looking for someone to get the ball into Haaland.. he turned to Nunes and got 14 G+A.

There's some people a manager can talk into playing like mini-kdb but Grealish was here for 4 years and not once did he show 10+ assists in a season like Savinho or Nunes did.

Then again he couldn't exactly get Zlatan or Kalvin Philips to perform either. Grealish at least gave him 2 good months.. but that for Pep is just not enough.

It's a bit like Foden.. he was a shadow of himself but Pep wants him to play in the POTY player mode. Some players can do it, some cannot.

Does statty World include Tophy Success? Is it a generational thing to keep banging on about assists, touches, predicted goals and all that noise?
Use your eyes. We were a far better side with Grealish in it, but now it's convenient to label him a piss head, a poser, a waistrel etc etc. Replace him in that 22/23 side with any of the new recruits and we don't have that success.

Got there.

He certainly wasn't to blame for the Fulham collapse, but with fresh legs he was totally incapable of hanging onto the ball for 5 seconds at a time. I didn't imagine that, did I?

For statty world sakes.. Sergio Gomez and Kalvin Philipps won a treble too!

Assists/ key passes is something you don't want to make fun of.. it's one of the most vital stats in football and it's something we've been severely lacking after KDB got injured.. someone who could get the ball to our strikers.

And without any hate towards Grealish, I'll tell you why Grealish is not here.. Doku OUTPLAYED HIM in big games the last 2 seasons.

Love him or hate him, Doku has had SEASON DEFINING MOMENTS in our last 2 seasons.

1. Drawing the penalty at Spurs away in 23-24 that Haaland scored.

2. Trivela pass to Nunes for the goal in added time vs Villa at home in 24-25.

0/2 with dribbles
0/3 with ground duels
67% pass accuracy
1 foul committed almost instantly when he came on from.... Giving the ball away

It's at the point were those that wish to defend him are either lying to themselves or others in order to see something that isn't there. Nothing wrong with his cameo...

I thought he was absolutely awful. The bloke next to me kept slating him before he came on.He said something to me about him and i said i know he’s been bad but i do think he’s got loads of natural talent. I ended up laughing as it went on as he seemed to fuck up almost every time he got the ball as the bloke moaned on and on about him.

You’d say he must be lacking confidence but he continues to take the difficult option so he’s really not helping himself currently.
