Maybe, but we can't sit around waiting for these players inside of people to come out. That's not the level we're going for. Let them do that at Spurs, or Bournemouth, or Dortmund, or Atletico..

Haaland, KDB, Gundogan, Mahrez, Sterling, Rodri, Gvardiol, Stones. Some may have had slower starts than others but it was clear these guys were the level we needed when we signed them. If we get back to this sort of transfer policy we'll kick off another period of dominance. If we fuck around with players like Savinho hoping they come good we won't.

The difference is that Doku has improved hugely with coaching. He plays with his head up now. Savinho seems to have regressed.

Like in case of Doku. If Doku is unavailable we can always use Ait-Nouri as left wing back and use Reijnders as left attacking midfielder, the role that suits him a lot.

So Semenyo-Doku as main LW/RW and Matheus/Ait-Nouri as a cover.

Problem we have is in midfield and lack of energy to deliver ball to the attackers.

When Rodri was able to play January-February without injury and regained his stamina, in March-April, before Rodri god injured in Arsenal game, we played at a very high level, similar to treble winners. That's why we won Arsenal Final, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal PL.

Then Rodri got injured and we regressed again and it was visible in Burnley away game.

So we should concentrate more on midfield. Buy Anderson, hopefully Tonali or Enzo and that will give us energy for whole season.

When you have Haaland, Cherki, Foden, Semenyo, Reijnders, Doku and Marmoush - that's more than enough attacking talent.

We got roughly around 30m for each if Bobb and McAtee so the price for Savinho may be the going rate

He doesn't fit our system especially when we're playing against a team defending deep. Put him in a counter-attacking team & you are likely to see the form he showed at Girona

We shouldn't be a slow passing team either. As a significant number of our recent acquisitions aren't intricate passing types.

Haaland, Doku, Semenyo, Marmoush, Savio are all NOT intricate passing types....They are early attack and dominate with superior speed, skill and strength types. We handicap them by playing like Barca. We should play more like a mix between Bayern and Liverpool.
 
I dont understand rebuying players that used to be with us. Porro is a weird player bloody good RB though

Nah not buying that.

At his best he’s a great dribbler in small spaces, fast enough to beat people over short distances and has the technical skill and passing to make it work.

Honestly I feel like 90% of the forum is judging him at his absolute worst in December and pretending that’s what he is. Go watch some highlights from his first season and tell me that he can’t attack a parked bus.



That’s a player I want us to have, it’s all still in there. He had a rough season. It happens.

New manager, new start.

If he goes to Spurs he’s exactly the kind of player di Zerbi will get going.

Also despite the shit season we know he’s got a good attitude because Pep told us a hundred times he won’t have sad faces at the training ground and sulking players - and he kept playing him. If he was a prick he’d be out the door like Cancelo.


Hes 22 years old, raw, needs his confidence building up and a few bloody goals to drop in but when it comes together he’s going to be a hell of a player and frankly it’s kind of the managements job to get that talent out of him and on to the pitch.

I am glad another bluemoon poster can see it.
He has great potential, sometimes it is his final ball choice that is wrong, often we do not get enough people in the box to get on the end of his crosses.
For many football fans once they have labelled a player as shit, they x their fingers and hope they are right.
Sometimes as they were with Gundoghan, Rodri and David Silva, they just keep quiet

Can just see it clicking at Tottenham too, you just know he’ll start scoring and assisting if we do sell.
