Good defensively today and offered something going forward. However he's still a fraction of the player when playing from the left. Has to be zinchenko against psg, the stability and control he provides along with his reliability is crucial. Cancelo takes a lot of risks in his game, that's what makes him so appealing but we have to minimise the potential errors that could lead to counters, zinchenko does that better.

High risk high reward player, unfortunately Neymar and Mbappe will make you pay dearly.
Still fluffs his lines once a twice game though. That been said I am a huge fan.

Back to his best yesterday. First time since the international break
I won't hold this one against Cancelo, but I felt he was the wrong player for tonight.
Cancelo is like De Bruyne in that he plays a high risk sort of game. I think tonight Cancelo's style of play was always going to cause us problems, just by how many risks he takes. Also being a right footer I think he forced us into playing narrower than we should have done.
He still had some really good moments, in attack and defence. But a few scary moments too.
I think had the game gone entirely like the 2nd half did he could have shined like he did against Tottenham, but it didn't, so he didn't.
Hopefully he noticed whatever Walker did when he lost his place, and now makes the effort to return the favour.

Liability first half but to his credit he got over it quickly and was superb for the first 15 minutes of the second half. Had to come off before he was sent off and we needed the control zinchenko offers. Get him back on the right vs Palace

Far prefer him on the right where he can play his natural game and play a supporting role to Bernardo.Him and Zinchenko make us play better football,they lack a bit of pace,but they make up for that in balance and productivity.
Zinchenko brought a bit more balance and composure. Cancelo was poor but had some good moments too. I think he made 5 tackles and got into some dangerous positions. He was definitely up for it but maybe a bit too reckless. Plus he was on a yellow so it made sense to sub him off.
