27 | Matheus Nunes - 2024/25

How's that worked out for them?

They've won a title, another one on the way, won a European title and consistently reached the elatter stages of the competition. They'll be happy with that.

They haven't been as good as us but I don't think there's anything wrong with observing that Liverpool have recruited really well from mid to lower table sides. It's interesting to me that our recruitment (up until about 18 months ago) has been unbelievably good, but buying off other English clubs isn't our strength.

Made a goal saving challenge not long before he was hooked. He at least has the speed to get back when we're in trouble.

Not the worst player yesterday. Just not sure where he should be playing in a Pep team.

Walker, Sterling and Stones say hi :)

I think Stones is the only example applicable in this argument. Walker and Sterling were brought in as ready made elite players from teams I nand around the top 4. They were expected to hit the ground running and not bought in a "let's see if they can step up" kind of way. Stones I think you can say was one we were hoping to develop further and it worked out.

Liverpool's shopping lower down in the division has been demonstrably better than ours, there's no point even arguing about it. Do I think their recruitment on the whole over the past 10 years has matched ours? No. Have they won as much as us? No. But I think it's ok to point out that these kinds of purchases haven't worked out so well for us of late.

Whoever is defending this flop needs to consider switching to another discipline.
I don't think he's good enough to stay beyond the upcoming rebuild, but he's played well in different positions during a tough period that's seen us hit with dozens of injuries. Once Kovacic is back - and once we sign another DM in January - he'll be nowhere near the team, but when the chips have been down he's done okay.

He shouldn't be, no matter how hard he tries or how fast he can run he's well below the level required and what we should be aspiring to, even as a squad player

Pep never trusted him as a midfielder, and obviously he´s not a winger material as well. I have to say if our wingers didn't get injured, he's probably a bench warmer until his departure. If we kept bringing players that don't even match the Pep standard such as Nunes or KP, then the same shit's gonna happen over and over again, Pep will keep playing the exact same players he trusts and those players will have to play too many games. get too tired and Injury-prone at some point then there will be another catastrophe just like this season.

I don't understand why he's not being tried out at RB.

Despite all the people yelling he's useless.. what he can do is cover ground with pace, tackle and get passes through to Erling. No one else has done that in a month. A FUCKING MONTH and Haaland just sits there with no service.

For everyone saying he's not technical enough.. he's way more technical than Walker and doesn't shoot crosses 40 rows up into the stands!

FFS we tried Delph, Ayme, Phil, Zinny, Bernardo before settling on Ake and then Gvardiol @ LB sheesh!

That's it in a nutshell - he's been alright lately when compared with his previous 18 months or so, but he's still nowhere near good enough
