Thank you.
Never rated Martinez, thought he was very lucky Spain didn't get 2/3 up before half time.
His first half team selection and tactics were shocking.
Williams ran them ragged and Spain should have been out of sight...
Was smart enough to learn from his mistake, though. Once he replaced Neves with Semedo they were much more balanced and Williams never got back enough to cover on his side.

Semedo is a much better right back than Nunes, but even though he's freely available, fit, and league ready, age appears to stand against him. Pity.

Agree that Martinez changed things, for the better.
But, Spain had enough chances to be out of sight in the first half.
Spain seemed complacent last night, especially in the second half.
They played too much slow, possession-based football (where have we seen that this season !), not taking any risks.
Even the 2 Spanish wonder kids went into they're shells during the second half.
Ronaldo was very poor, despite scoring the equaliser, resorting to diving when he frequently lost possession.
I think that Spain lost the final, rather than Martinez masterminded a victory...

Rather the same in the earlier game, when Germany could have been five to the good in the opening fifteen minutes. Portugal choked the midfield in the second half and Spain just struggled to cope, with youth and inexperience contributing to their own downfall. I tend to agree on Martinez, but after a couple of quarter final disappointments, he's given Portugal victory over Spain, which must have been enjoyable, and he and they deserve their success.

I think he will be our right back next season. Tbh, if we have someone quick to cover for him defensively, from midfield or defence, then we r golden. Fabian delph v2
I think he has the attributes to be an excellent right back. If only he could cut out the serious errors that we see nearly every game. It’s a big if though.

Wanted him 8 years ago.

He'd be a good RB option, but should really be looking for a new RB if City are to fight on every front this year.

It's a definite weakness right now.

Be interesting to see how much he can improve as a RB in a defensive sense now he has much more time on the training pitch and has fully committed to the role. Has all the attributes and the silly mistakes should occur less often with more RB minutes and a (hopefully) better functioning team.

I like Nunes, but there's no way the united game is in that list!!
He actually played well that game, barring his cock up at the end.

Alot of these stats won't fully take those errors into play, or perhaps don't penalize the player so much for that.

It's really his only weakness, the lack of concentration at certain moments, as long as he can fix that he will be competing as one of the best RB in the world.

It is Monday morning mate get off the fucking drugs

I can see him working really well if we play a back three.

-----Akanji/Khus---Dias---Gvardiol-------
----------------Rodri---Reijnders-----------
Nunes---------cherki/foden-----------Ait-Nori
------------Haaland--------Marmoush--------

I think that would get the best out of a lot of players and be pretty versatile and robust. Savinho, Doku, Boob, Foden, and even Bernardo (wingback/deeper wide player is preferrable for him to an advanced winger) can all come in for the wide positions, especially against low blocks. It can easily work as a 3-2-4-1 as well with Foden and Cherki playing behind Haaland and Marmoush drops out. Makes use of CBs if we have less departures and we have the options for next to Rodri now.

Gonzales might be more suited for that role than Tijjani. The latter is more attacking minded.

Anyway, I doubt Pep goes with that formation, he isn't a big fan of 3-5-2. Against weaker teams, 2 CBs are enough, add another midfielder next to Rodri and move Tijjani forward.
