Don't understand at all how some see him at fault for the first goal - he closed hartman down very quickly and his body positioning is by no means bad - hands tucked, leg outstretched to defend against a deep cross. exactly what you want from a fullback in that position. Just because the ball happened to nutmeg him is not an indication that he misplayed it.

It is so fucking obvious with the speed of Nunes, Khusa, and to a lesser degree Gvardiol and NOR, we can play a pressing high line with zero fear.

There's a lot more to defending than having pace at the back. Leadership is often crucial. Dias offers leadership. We had our best week in terms of defending ( United, Napoli, Arsenal) with Dias in the team.

That said, if Dias isn't available for some reason, then playing both Khusa and Nunes will happen, and I think the result is likely to be good.

You are probably right. I think we do let more crosses come in than most teams but that's probably because they are attacking at pace on the break so it's harder to stop in that situation.
 
I think there’s some people who think that it was him. I saw several clowns in the matchday thread saying that Nunes is having a shitty game and doing dumb stuff when he wasn’t even near the ball at all. He is good enough. People are looking for a hakimi when there’s only one.

He had a decent (quiet) game at FB today because Brentford offered nothing in attack, their one chance was through the middle.

I accept he is playing RB because we have no one else but don't pretend he is a right back.

I would like to see him given a run at right midfield with a decent full back behind him though, afterall that's why we bought him.

If Khusanov makes RB his own he may work out as an option in front of him.
 
played well for some of the game then seemed to stop focussing and concentrating....last 10-15 mins he was very poor BUT he has definitely improved.
