Not sure anyone anywhere did, even himself. He’s now a very good right back.
Not sure him or us saw that coming
I would add that he played a few games, out wide, when we were particularly shite last season, and was our best player in at least a couple of those.....before being stuck at RB. The hardest part of playing at the back if you haven't played there, is that the only 'bail out' for a mistake is the keeper (or poor finishing) unlike mf, where Rhodri and then the CB's can cover. Not sure anyone anywhere did, even himself.
He’d never played RB before Brentford away on the 14th January this year, ever before in his career.
I’d be hard pushed to name two better right backs around at the moment.
Weired that all last season, everybody thought FB's were the biggest problem (never was) and we needed to buy a couple......and here we are, with two m/f's at full back, and the 'proper' one we did buy, isn't as good as the young No10 playing there!I wanted an actual RB before the start of the season, but I also said I'd be okay with him carrying on. There were signs that he was growing into the position.
Buzzing for him.

I know!! ......but most people were hellbent on FB's.We needed midfielders!
We seem to have Nico, Cherki, Reijnders and Doku in the middle along with Foden now.
Didn't have that last season.!

I think Khusanov would have got a run at RB had he avoided injury. He was in good form.
But Nunes has taken advantage of the situation and will likely keep his place.
some people were saying this *2 months ago*. that's how long it took for them. With all due respect. Speak for yourself only. I for one saw this coming a mile away. And it wasn't that hard.
