A lot of people, including City fans, don't realise that we played Gornik in the final only because after two drawn games and a drawn play off they only got past Roma in the semi final on the toss of a coin. No away goals rule then.

Got two, both in pristine condition. Bought them on the plane coming back from the game from the guy who owned the programme shop in Lloyd Street. Will not be selling them as I am keeping them for my two sons.

I suspect we were on the same flight as I was on the last flight out which was delayed for hours by which time half the passengers were pissed up after demolishing their duty free booze. Many wouldn't normally have been allowed on the flight but the airport authorities just wanted shut of us so they could close the airport and go home. The story on the night was that the plane (Dan Air) had a malfunction and a replacement part had to be flown out from the UK. I hadn't heard the story about the pilot being killed but that may well have been the real reason.
