Sadly I don't think he'll ever be the player he was again

taking wickets is what Test Cricket is all about

Shouldn't drop Pietersen, shouldn't even be a consideration. Yes he threw his wicket away, but he's still our best batsman by far. He needs to rein it in a touch but that's about it. Broad played yet another good innings, he needs to take more wickets though. However I'd suggest playing him higher up the order might be a possibility, I'd rather have him coming in ahead of Ambrose at the moment.Gelsons Dad said:alib said:how many wickets did he get though in those 40 overs?

yep.
Freddy has pace and can contain but he doesn't get many wickets. Botham had a golden arm, he could bowl crap and take wickets. Sadly freddie has not . He bats like a number 8 these days too so he needs to take a lot more wickets to justify selection. (or be an unknown Aussie)
I would drop KP for a game or two now. He needs a reality check. When your number 8 plays a perfectly paced innings having watched the big shots get themselves out you have to wonder what the management( Captain) is doing?

Unfortunately there are several players, including the captain, who need to be having a close look at their own performances. I'm afraid Pietersen has the view that its his wicket and he'll do what he wants with it, throwing it away yesterday is another example of Big Time Charlie doing what he likes. You would have thought the SA's would have had to prise him off the crease with a crowbar. Nothing will be said cos we're f....d without his runs.
