Smells Like is definitely their best ever riff. Firstly, it was catchy enough to introduce people to the band at the time when only a small portion of the US had heard of them. Secondly, it's musically simple, yet annoyingly good - one of those that everybody else thinks "Dammit, I should have made that". Thirdly, Rolling Stone put it at about number 5 in their 100 Greatest Ever Riffs.

That's enough for me. Why, what do you think is their best ever riff?

I, and most of the musical world, disagree with you about Smells Like being their best ever riff. I love Lithium personally, wouldn't say it's their best riff though, probably In Bloom for me.

Have you got their Live in Reading album by the way?

Awesome album, need to pick up the DVD. Kurt's voice is fucking annoying at times though when just having the audio, which is why I'm getting the DVD. I still think Cobain had one of the best voices of the 90's.

Nirvana was a 14/15 liamctid - might taste got heavier after them.

Anyone can disagree with me about Teen Spirit, it's not there best 'riff' (best bit of the song is the verse and pre chorus) and In Utero, for me, is better than Nevermind.
