He stood in the election to be Mayor of Salford lolI know he had a reputation in the 80’s/90’s but was he still “Mr Big” prior to his murder?
What made him “Mr Big”? Keeping the scrotes in Salford in check? His protection set up where he’d probably take money off honest people trying to earn a living?
He didn’t look like he was awash with wealth. I always thought the Salford lads were more robbers than gangsters?
I remember him stabbing someone when he was being filmed for some documentary, like a lot of these “gangsters” he didn’t seem the sharpest tool in the box.
I’ve just been reading on the M.E.N website that the guy he stabbed was on a stag do in town, he head butted Massey for smashing the minibus window he was travelling in. So he stabbed him nearly killing him.
Christ, it is like a shit low budget version of Escobar going for President. He stood in the election to be Mayor of Salford lol

Note that you’ve not seen it, but where do you think its sympathies will lie? Don’t want to watch anything that vaguely resembles propaganda.Documentary about Salford , Massey etc on Quest Red last night

So true, great observation and agreed sentiment. I will watch it though, impartially of course. Ive said before that I couldn't live the life of a villain because life is too short. I dont mean that in the sense that someone cause me mortal harm, I mean that I couldnt cope with the constant mistrust of ones friends and the fear of betrayal I suppose. The expression that there is no loyalty amongst thieves extends way beyond the criminal definition of theft. I can trust my friends and know that there will be mutual help and support. That is not dependant or conditional on anything. The life of a villain is not so.Note that you’ve not seen it, but where do you think its sympathies will lie? Don’t want to watch anything that vaguely resembles propaganda.
Life’s far too short.

How fast is too fast in that instance to decide you may as well try being gay?can you imagine being locked up for life! How wank.
It was but I wonder why stuff like this makes the papers. He will be wanking off (or being wanked off) in his cell over the publication of it, increasing his notoriety.Interesting read, cheers.
It’s no doubt an advertisement posing as a story for that book that’s mentioned. It was but I wonder why stuff like this makes the papers. He will be wanking off (or being wanked off) in his cell over the publication of it, increasing his notoriety.
Hope the MEN didn't pay him for access to the letters.
It just stirs up shit amongst the gangs too.

Recall reading Peter Walsh's Gang Wars which was very good covering the Quality St Gang, The Cool Cats and the Door Wars
