Rotating centrebacks is moronic, especially when Dias and Stones merged so well last season, won us the league were possibly the biggest factor in us going further in the Champions League than ever before; both have suffered this year because of it. Laporte seems to have a parasitical impact on both of them when partnered with him for some reason, potentially his personality.

I’d try to restore the Stones-Dias partnership in the new year as the Champions League games will expose Dias’ flaws without his pal, while Laporte himself has previous as a big game bottle job.
what a pile of bollocks ,your posts are a work of art

Moronic......ffs, instantly negates any of your comments that follow.
Attention-seeking or wind-up, only you know...or care. HNY

We have 3 class CBs.

Dias is well above Stones and Laporte, obviously.

Stones - when on form is - IMO - better than Laporte - but there's not much difference between the two.

Don't think Dias did much wrong to get dropped but he has gone to ground a bit too often lately, maybe this is just Pep's way of letting him know that he's not undroppable?

Potentially a tactical decision to have our two best passing centre backs against a team that presses well
Chelsea had these occasional 5 minute spells where they pressed us really aggressively at the back and catch us out. They only lasted 5 minutes because nothing every came of it.

As much as I rate Dias, he may have had issues in this position. Especially if he was next to Walker.

Yeah Dias next to Walker makes our right side much less comfortable in possession.

I love Dias... but he definitely behind Stones and Laporte in this regard. Crazy to think how young he is and if he can still improve as well.

Dias is a beast and still our best overall defender but he's a step below Stones and Laporte in terms on the ball ability. Doesn't hurt that Stones and Laporte are both good defenders themselves.
