3 | Ruben Dias - 2024/25

Fantastic professional. Excellent mentality. Post match interview comments were honest, considered but most importantly were calm. Ruben is an excellent leader, based purely on what we see on the pitch, in interviews and from what his peers say about him. Must have a chance of taking on captaincy next season and for a good number of years. If his development continues we could be talking of a player in the mould of Vincent Kompany, I really think he has that much potential.

The best thing we can do right now, is give this lad the captaincy with immediate effect.

His desire and fight on the pitch is exactly what we need in terms of leadership, and his post match interview actually gives a bit of inspiration, as opposed to listening to Walker stumble through with cliche after cliche.

It's hard to back this up after all the trophies we've won, but I'm sure we've won these despite Walker being captain; which I believe has to go down as one of the worst decisions this squad has ever made.

Again, difficult to back that up given the success, but sometimes there's more than meets the eye.

Going from Kompany, Fernandinho and Gundogan to Kyle bloody Walker has to be the biggest downgrade in history.
