I really do think it’s a case of form is temporary class is permanent with Dias. The club obviously see this as well hence the new contract. On his day he’s still top 5 centre backs on the planet in my opinion

He's not been good since his first season, fit or not. Overrated.

No denying he had a great first season and really helped steady a ropey defence at the time. He was always someone i looked at and thought he was getting the very most of fairly limited ability when comparing him to great defenders. I suppose you’d have to say his positional play is very good. If you were talking about truly elite centre halves though there aren’t many boxes he ticks.For instance pace, being dominant, really strong, great on the ball, great in the air.

100% correct, I keep saying this, yet loads of mates think he's quality, shouldn't be anywhere near our starting line up, just don't get what anyone sees in him, very average at best

Not particularly. He had decent spells but the same old problems were still there. He's an erratic defender who lacks authority when under pressure. As a player, he's the polar opposite of John Stones

In a nutshell, in my opinion, Ruben Dias is absolutely nowhere near being an 'elite' footballer.

It was only a poor Utd team but at the same time I think he been a bit of a scapegoat for our recent decline.

With a settled defence and midfield he will be fine.

Much better. Put pace next to him and let him lead the line instead of defending on the back foot and he improves drastically. Him and Josko carrying on where they left off last season.
