3 | Ruben Dias - 2025/26

Thought he was immense.

Saw him getting stick in the match thread but what did Calvert-Lewin do against him, Ruben won nearly everything.

People don't realise how good our away record is with him.

No players beyond criticism but after all he’s won with us and his obvious leadership skills.

I get the impression that some amongst us are quick to criticise him.

He’d been a brilliant signing for us.

Didn't think he had a great game tbh which is against the grain by the sounds of it. He won lots aerially but directly caused 3 or 4 breakaways leading to chances.

There was a comedy of errors chance involving him, Rodri and someone else that he slipped for as well.

The second half was tailor made for him; under pressure, lots of balls coming into the box and him getting on the end of things and clearing. In that situation there’s very few better than him.

He struggles against pace but he didn’t have to deal with that today.

Last 20-30 minutes when we dug in he was good but the hour before that he was awful.

Think he spent more time anywhere but his position. Don't know why it never gets mentioned, particularly from all the pundits who were defenders themselves but the way he regularly vacated centre back without a second thought is woeful.

That chance they had in the first 5 minutes with DCL was all because Dias decided to "sprint" out of position to close down somebody he was never getting to anyway, leaving the centre of the pitch wide open for the chance that should have been taken.

He did it again second half when Nunes made that fantastic last ditch block. he needlessly followed a run down the opposite channel despite the real danger being behind him and knowing he would be leaving a 2v1 there. once he went over, Nunes had to go too which left the space for that chance, luckily Nunes was brilliantly positioned, alert and fast enough to get back over but again it all came from Dias vacating his position.

I thought Calvert Lewisn had a great game and so did Ruben.
DCL missed an open goal early on after getting into a great position and turned Guehi before shooting across the goal. DCL would be a great back up to Haaland.
