I wouldn't call Gvardiol's defensive mistakes is being down to being knackered or lacking in confidence.

No it’s not the Palmer thread but “giving in to players” betrays the inflexible mentality. It’s Pep’s way or on yer bike, as he’s an inveterate control merchant, but which in this case proved one of the club’s worst dropped bollocks.

It is relevant to this thread because Echeverri risks becoming another bigged up prospect who becomes marginalised, loaned out and eventually eBayed.

Does it matter ultimately? As long as careers aren’t wrecked, and all parties make money, maybe not. And Pep wont have regrets when he has licence to buy oven ready replacements.
I don't mind dropped bollocks if dropping them means pep achieved what he has achieved. I don't see it that way though so no point. But respect to your pov.

He could be similar to what Enciso was to Brighton before his injury.

They got him as an 18 year old who'd only played in Paraguay, albeit with 50 games under his belt (twice as many as Echeverri), and he made 20+ Premier League appearances in his first season.

Echeverri is much like him. Capable of great skill and moments of magic but physically not ready to start or play 90 mins twice a week.

I think he could be a useful sub to have and inject a bit of energy for the last 20 mins. He's raw but has a decent turn of speed and wicked shot on him. More direct than most of our other attacking players.

Yours too, mate. And, of course, Pep’s credits massively outweigh his lesser moments. Now I suppose we should move on and let the thread stick to its main purpose. :-)

Is this lad gonna be farmed out if given a chance to play . He could be a forward alternative to the big man .

The arrival of Echeverri and the return of Oscar Bobb will make a difference to the options available, and to the mood around the squad, IMO.

You would hope do but I can only see them getting limited game time.
Bobb had a great summer but I never got the impression from Pep that he would be a "regular" this season

Considering the fact that Gvardiol and Stones are our best scorers other than Haaland, he might be more needed than we initially thought. I am guessing he will get his chances this season.

He has more trouble scoring that the incumbent lot does, 3 goals in 27 matches he has scored.

We are doing the same thing again, nringing in players who don't score and wonder why they don't score when they come here.

I got the impression that he would play a lot and would be the replacement for Alvarez.

Hopefully.
Hope Echeverri hits the ground running and that Bobb is fully recovered
Could make a big boost to team confidence if they do and allow a few of the players to get a bit of a rest.
