30 years ago today. Spurs in the FA cup

The league cup defeat got a bit moody that night but nothing like this game.
Think we were actually sick to the back teeth of not winning shit at the time and like someone earlier said we were fancied for this tie.
But once we realised it was over for a least another season it bubbled over big time

Mayhem outside after

Another false dawn.

New stand opening (Platt Lane) and what an utter shit effort that was, and a chance of Wembley.

Utter and total chaos, horses on the pitch and nasty atmosphere, a time of utter and total despair.

And all live on TV for everyone to laugh at.

What a total disaster this day was. Absolute chaos.
but also funny as fuck to the 17 year old me on the kippax. Obviously the now older me finds it terrible behaviour

The beeb had no idea what to do and the grand opening of the new Platt Lane ruined

Great goal by Phelan mind and I am convinced Coton told Sheringham to miss the pen for his own good

Btw I never went on the pitch though a few mates did

You could tell it was going to be an eventful day from first thing. There were faces knocking about who hadn’t been seen since the mid 80s. Every one of them seemed to be in the new Platt Lane for the grand opening. And then on the pitch for the grand closing. Sure nobody who was there needs reminding about the fun and games afterwards.
