31 | Ederson - 2024/25

The only 'kinell required is for you posting this out of context. He's being asked by Brazilian journalists whilst on Brazilian duty about a Brazilian team mate, he's not going to say anything even slightly negative about him. And for full context, he also said he'd be happy if Rodri won it too.

Correct. I know which I'd rather hear, as a club teammate, between being 'happy' if I won it or hoping I'd win it.

But that's just me.

Another game, another example of ederson saving our skin once more. The brilliant save from Semedo as well as the superb bit of sweeping to stop a big chance.

That's now 6 of the 8 league games we've played so far where he's made absolutely vital points winning saves and we'll still no doubt see moronic comments about him not making vital saves.

It was a good save that today. Bit concerning at how we have needed him to be making these saves. Wolves were poor but every mistake we made almost led to a goal. When we lose the ball it gets to the other end of the pitch way too quickly.

Not wanting to derail edersons thread but yeah i agree It's a major problem, one I've been bringing up for weeks. People keep saying its the lack of pace in defence, its not, the pace of akanji or walker simply masked the problem, It's the fundamental shape of the side that's the problem.

We throw too many people ahead of the ball, and then they stay ahead of the ball as we go side to side for a dozen or so passes. At some point, somebody is going to lose the ball, that's just inevitable and when they do, It's almost Sunday league panic with no shape as we're either out-numbered or 1 to 1 at best as those not out of the game try to cope.

Whenever we do give the ball away it's basically 3 defenders and kovacic vs whoever the opposition throw forward and kovacic is often very easily bypassed for a holding midfielder. Nobody else in our side has the ability to get back to make up the numbers, we might get a winger back in on occasion if they've dropped deep when we lose it but Rico, gundo, bernardo will all nearly always be ahead of play and can't get back.

I expected it to change in the absence of Rodri's control and screening but it hasn't as of yet. We won't continue to get away with it.

Agree. One loose pass or lost challenge and it’s chaotic. Kovacic lost the ball in a 50/50 today on the half way line and within 10 seconds we had almost conceded. Wolves could and perhaps should have been 2-0 up today before we took control back and both Brentford and Fulham exploited it too. Not sure how we change it but we have to as like you say it will bite us eventually especially against better sides.

Yet another game where he's kept us in it. Neither goal is on him and made some crucial saves to stop it being truly embarrassing. Nobody is doing their job better than Ederson this season.
