bought microsd card for my phone - tried to copy everything from 8GB one in phone to 32GB one but when it gets to video files it just crashes my PC (running XP)

Happened on 2 PCs, can copy files ok to hard drives of PCs, deleted from 8GB and copied back ok but unable to copy to 32Gb, get blue screen then it crashes. After restarting it says windows encountered an error and needs to close

is your 32gb card formatted into same file system as the smaller card?
IE: ntfs or fat32?

both fat32

you sure it's FAT32 and not just FAT as this will be FAT16?

FAT16 2Gb max file size
FAT32 4Gb max file size

Check the file format on your PCs as well mate and check what size the video files are on the 8Gb card and PC if you can just copy them across individually.

Possibly a bad card if same occurs on 2 pcs
was it a chep chinese fake or reputable memory retailer
Chinese fakes are notorious for being Wank

They had 100% feedback (not any more)

Spent 3 hours on Thursday night copying files from 8GB card to PC then tried each folder to 32GB card individually, crashed PC when copying DCIM folder, reformatted card and started again (leaving out that folder) crashed again at music folder, reformatted card and started again (leaving both folders out). Copied everything ok then when I stopped and removed card all folders went into Lost.Dir folder which I believe means they became corrupt.

All files copied fine to 8GB card again and also to 2GB card I had at home.

I asked for replacement card or refund and guy refused so opened a dispute. Got refund from Ebay and left him negative feedback. He sent me message asking me to review feedback which I declined

When it blue screens does it give you an error number?

If you need a new one I bought a Samsung 32GB Class 10 Micro SDHC from Amazon which is genuine and has worked perfectly :- http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FY61EK/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's currently £17.25 plus £2.50 delivery which is a decent price. If you were paying significantly less than that I would suggest that it's not a genuine 32GB card. They take smaller capacity ones and reformat to a larger size which is usually unstable.

-- Tue Oct 08, 2013 1:10 pm --
