first home game of the season, fair enough the club is a shambles but where are these so called loyal and passionate fans now?!

Sunderland maybe.

.

fiddling with their sisters

Re: 36,000 Geordies

I think it is actually a great attendance considering .....

they are a small town club who have just been relegated and have not won anything since god was a boy!

most of the deluded fans seem to think they are a big club who should be winning the title as reality sinks in the gates are sure to drop expect gates of around 25000 if they do not storm this league.

imho I think they will be lucky to reach the play offs and will struggle after the tranfer window closes as I think all their moves will be outbound, leaving them with a totally inadequate squad.

Got no love for the geordies but having lived there for 5 years I can tell you they're hardly a 'small town club'

Re: 36,000 Geordies

I don't think 36.000 is too bad in view of the fact that the team has just been relegated, the "best players" are being sold and the club appears to be a shambles.

Any group of fans that don't take the easy option of following the "big four" should be applauded.

Don't kid yourself that Sunderland fans are no better, look at their own crowds through the years when they were lower down.

No club, and I mean no club have proved their loyalty to their club the way we have done.
