lets see how many turn up on a cold and wet December Tuesday night when they play the likes of Peterborough and they are mid-table and have sold all their best players?

Do you mean like the huge attendance we got against Mansfield ? Give it up mate 36K isn't a bad crowd. Remember where we've come from.

I think people are missing the point of this thread.

36,000 is a good turnout, however the myth that the geordie nation, turn up week in, week out, that there are a million of them that havn't missed a game, home or away for the last 50 years has been dispelled immediately.

IMO, they are a club that the media love to propel to something that they are not and have never been and their fans love it, infact they join in with it.

And for the guys saying that they got more than us, lets see what they get when they drop again to the third tier, just like we did?

Your right mate, this originally was the point i wanted to bring across. For years we have heard how amazing they are yet 15-20 thousand fans suddenly dissapear within a couple of months, i wouldnt be suprised to see that figure increase throughout the season.

36,000 is still a large figure but remember they are a one city team whilst we are not (well kinda :p)
