3rd most famous goal

One I think gets missed is Yaya away to Newcastle with one game left year we win the league. IMO think we were struggling and he stepped up with 2 goals. I'm not sure any could be included in 3rd most famous but they certainly up there for me as important goals

You could easily compile a list of the top twenty famous goals both scored and conceded by us. But sometimes the most important goals are the ones that happen in matches that don't mean a lot in themselves but have tremendous consequences for the outcomes at the nd of the season.
Three have already been mentioned this thread
Tommy Booth's goal against Peterborough in 81 cup run, although you could say the same about Paul Power' equaliser against Everton
Kolarov's goal against Sunderland in 2012 which gained us a point in game we should have probably lost.
David Silva's against Hull in 2014 when he decided that he was going to everything he could to make sure we won that game after Vinnie got sent off. Though special mentions need to go to Javi Garcia and Martin Demechelis for their Dias and Stones like performances.
The others that spring to mind are;
Jim Tolmie and Kenny Clements against Sheffield United in April 1985, we desperately needed to win to keep in the promotion race but were bloody awful all game. But in the last minutes we managed to score two almost identical goals from the right hand side of the penalty area to give us the win.
Samir Nasri's goal against Sunderland in April 2014 which trickled over the line after Manone only half stopped it to save a point in another game where we weren't at our best.
Finally Sterling's goal against Southampton in 2017 which kept the winning streak going in a game that was probably destined to be a draw. One of those cliche games where Champions find a way to win.
That Hull game, Demechelis and Garcia were phenomenal. They held the line so well it felt like Hull were flagged offside every time they passed the ball

Jesus scoring the only goal with the last kick of the game away in the dying seconds at Southampton. That single goal broke more records than any other goal in history.

It broke the record for the most points in any season 100.

The most away point 50.

The most points ahead of second 19

The most away wins in a season 16

The most consecutive wins 18

The most wins in a premier league season 32

The biggest goal difference in a season +79
Totally agree , pep and us wanted 100 points so badly....fantastic goal and result

Up to that Demichelis had his doubters but really hit form in that run in. Garcia was more than useful as a stand in CB.

Might not make many peoples lists, but:

John Macken vs Spurs in the 4-3 - stunning comeback from 0-3
Great choice. Another of the many big moments I missed. 10-1 v Huddersfield - only home game I missed. York City away - had to give my ticket away due to illness. This one... flight to London got cancelled so ending up watching it on TV

These have already been mentioned but Horlock at Wembley and Dzeko on 93:20 day are both critical, without them the course of our history changes.

Personally, I feel its the Aguero,Tueart,Yaya, Franny Lee goals that matter most. Denis Law did not relegate United, they were going down anyway. Quite frankly he was a big Rag as far as I am concerned. Never celebrated the goal.Goals in Semis, are no more important than 1st round.Dickov got us to penalties, but Weaver was the star that day. For me, it is the history changing final goals that count. Some crackers mentioned, but none above my top four !!!
