what hypocrites, I posted after the Sunderland game that we need to buy and suggested players. All the keyboard cowards went tits ballistic, now its ok went the cats not just out of the bag, but ripping up the curtains, fecherik nudniks!

Yes, a couple of players would certainly help and that's why Mancini has been asking.

However, I see no need to panic, despite so many people throwing their dummies out on here. We have just had a couple of hiccups, but am confident we'll get the show back on the road on Monday. Of course, we are missing Yaya, Silva, Kompany- these are three of our spine and critical...BUT we do still have enough to cope...the others just need to step up to the challenges ahead.

If we can get De Rossi in (or someone similar) and another player, that's enough for me. The priority has to be to get rid of Tevez, Bridge, Onouha (if he's not going to play) immediately and then we can decide on Kolarov and De Jong in the summer.

Ok so people saying we need to spend, what exactly happens when Kompany, Toure, Toure and Silva come back? We will have one of the most bloated and overpaid squads in the world. People cannot seriously think we need to go out and spend can they?

A winger and midfielder will do me, anything else can wait. De Rossi and ANY high quality winger with some vision, quality, and pace would do me - there are wingers ranging in value from £7million to £30million who would be an upgrade from Johnson, depending on how much the club wants to spend. Even Weiss would be an upgrade from Johnson at this point, not being dramatic either as I watch Espanyol and he is more direct, makes defenders think, and offers more to the team.

Onouha, Suarez, Assulin, Roman. That's where Arsenal's kids came from which gives them great depth. Use the much vaunted academy. Keep buying and the best young players wont join our academy as they know they will never play

Excellent point , we have to ensure we get more MR's in future years or else we will never maximise the possibility of being the best we can be.

That means getting the best mentors to ensure that happens as well.

Suarez, Assulin and Roman aren't ready, I wouldn't mind us giving Guidetti the run as 4th striker next season but the problem you only get a couple of top class players at a time through your own academy and they aren't there or ready yet.

Yeah Xavi, Iniesta, Messi etc. but Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta were the last crop, they had a phase of not buying anything, Messi is a once in a generation player, and Fabregas and Pique went to England to develop a bit before going back, so we can't just say "call up 4/5 academy stars" because it doesn't work like that.

Absolutely right.

We had enough players of the right quality to have won that game last night, but we had a bad game. Coming hard on the heels of the 10-man derby three days earlier, it's hardly a surprise.

I'd like to see a better left back come in for Kolarov.
If Onuoha is sold i'd like to see Savic moved back to fifth choice and a better more experienced centre half come in.
We need a right sided attacking midfielder to switch up with Nasri.
A forth striker is also needed, either bring Guidetti back from his loan or bring in another striker.

Because we dominate the majority of our games and Kompany won't be missing forever, then we'll have Lescott and Kompany back together, with Kolo soon joining them and Savic still here. A CB of the quality we need can wait for summer, players like Samba are good but if we're going to buy another CB surely it should be one of a higher quality (Silva, Hummels) who is decisively better than Lescott and who we'd struggle to obtain in the short January window. Players like Samba and Cahill are a step sideways.

Without a doubt we need to sign a centre mid and a winger this January if we want to win the league.

Mancini obviously doesnt trust them yet even home games against teams like wigan or stoke we have no youth players on the bench.
Also how match fit would our best youth prospects be like saurez and rekik be when they dont play reserve games.
