Very very tidy on the ball... Gundo level defensively though like he barely helped at all, Cherki was far better defensively when he replaced him.

1st goal just fully stood there ball watching as it pinged around our box.

2nd goal it was him that was last man from our corner and he's slow as fuck as he got nowhere near Malcom(who's not that quick) and gave up his run.

He has never been a defensive midfielder and admits it's an area of the game on which he needs to work. To get the best out of him, we need a proper defensive midfielder and not have him job share.

Its fine not being a defensive midfielder, can still point out he was shite at it when asked to do that job. Should never be left as last man again

Agree. Begs the question, though, why he was even asked to play that role.

he’s an 8. Love him. Makes runs that everyone refuses to pass to. Midfield still relying on Rodri off the ball. Not sure how you can change that ? Get rid of the old guard and sign MGW or bring O Riley into the team I think that can work

MGW isn't better than a peak Gundogan. He is more of a better functioning Kalvin Phillips but twice the value. I wouldn't even call him any better than Grealish either.

Safe to say hes not an option as a 6. Looked awful there and didnt show these legs he's apparently bringing to the side when he got rinsed for their second. As an 8 or not at all.

The 2nd goal was 100% on Ait-Nouri, our deepest defender on the corner kick, whose only job was to defend in case of a turn over. And AIt-Nouri fucked that up.

Disagree, Reijnders has to recognize what a risky header that was. it lacked any real power and allowed them to very very quickly counter. he was not under pressure. I don't know about you but I immediately gasped "oh no" as soon as he made that header

It was known before we signed him that the defensive side of his game isn't top notch. Playing him at 6 was risky and didn't pay off.

Hopefully Pep recognises that now and doesn't waste his ability in an unsuitable position again.
