4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

He’s a better finisher. Love Gundo, in his prime, technically a level above either Tijji or Lampard, but the latter two are clearly more natural goal scorers. A good portion of Gundos 20/21 fine scoring streak was down to Peps genius, if he can do the same with Tijji the numbers will be higher simply because he’s more of a natural finisher imo and waaay more athletic, so able to make a lot more of those runs.
That's such a disrespect to gundo. His finishing is elite level. Left foot, right food, header, back heal, overhead kick, free kick, long shot, whatever, he's got it in his locker.

Gundo is a wonderful player. Tijjani has some of his attributes but is more athletic.
Whether the latter can control games in the way that Gundo could is a moot point.
As always, it is about the blend of attributes across the team.

Has that ‘wow factor’ that so many footballers don’t these days. So unlucky not to complete his hat-trick, was it just me or did the ball hit a slight divot before he attempted to tap home?

Hope he starts alongside Gonzalez v Wolves.

Funnily enough, I just took out Ait-Nouri to get him in! Already have Cherki and Haaland.
I’ve kept Ait Nouri. Not so sure of the game time Cherki will get. AN is a starter each game and will provide plenty of assists I think, then I have TR and EH in to complete the City trio.

It’s not disrespectful Gundo is a truly fantastic footballer who I highlighted is technically levels above either Tijji or Lampard (who I was referencing) and can control a game like they could only dream of, but in terms of finishing whilst quite capable and a far better finisher than a lot of similar style technicians such as Modric or even our own Spanish Dave, he is not at the level in terms of finishing as say a KDB, Lampard, Gerrard or even Palmer etc. Tijji seems to have a more natural eye for goal and confident finish like said players. Just my opinion.

There is no replacing the brilliant KDB, but Rudolf can fill that void somewhat with his timing of his runs and hopefully he can make some some wonderful assists. As others have said he plays a lot like Frankie L. with those "arriving" late runs.
Wonderful piece of business by the club and couldn`t give a fuck how much we paid as I can see he`ll become such a big hit with the fans. All IMO though. ;)

I've gone similar although I replaced R AN with Dias who is £1m less. Hoping he is a consistent started and defensive points help his score.

I could change him as its very difficult to call our back 4 right now.

the moment he gets injured you know who will start. I really hope he stays injury free.

That’s my 3 blues in there too … watching Wirtz yesterday I’m tempted to take him out completely and swap him with Ekitike?

Im not liking what I'm hearing Pep!!! I read an article suggesting he is willing to play anywhere Pep wants him to. :(

I'm not doubtiing he can. But i hope this was more a throwaway comment rather than a hint that Pep been whispering 'I need you at 6 until Rodri gets back" into his subconscious.

Don't do it Pep. Don't do it. Use your squad my G. Gonzo was brought in specifically for this moment. Let's not re-invent the wheel. ;)

Absolutely, Gonzalez is perfectly capable of playing in Rodri’s role, allowing Tiji to make those unstoppable runs!

Fit as a butcher’s dog. The only dangers are that he ends up being used in the wrong position, to cover our poor planning, or he’s overplayed to compensate for wearier legs.

Brilliant player, if he plays next to a fit and in form Rodri, will turn out to the best signing of the window. Reminds me of an Old school proper CM, can do a bit of everything!
