4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Awful decision from Pep to bring him off, he was the only one who was troubling Chelsea with his excellent movement, he was the last person in attack who should have been subbed. Superbly taken goal. Saw him hit quite a few poor efforts but he absolutely smashed that, no real right to score from that angle

he looked more of a box-to-box at Milan but he was able to do that as the pace of games and intensity of Serie A literally about 50/60% of PL.

here he wants to be more of a fox in the box lol but then we miss an extra midfielder when we lose the ball upfront which we do a lot.
50/60% we never got above that today chelsea even less

Why did Pep stick him on the wing in the second half? Baffling.
Because he wasn’t working hard enough defensively in the middle so Pep brought BSilva into the middle more in the second half (was out on the right more in the first half) and used Reijnders on the left as he’d used BSilva on the right first half.

Reijnders isn’t active enough when we don’t have the ball.

Despite his goal, this guy is starting to really frustrate me

He offers nothing for large parts of the game and for a central midfielder that simply isnt good enough...

He is defensively none existent and is bypassed all too easily

Its such a shame That Nico G got injured when he did with Rodri coming back....

With a fully fit squad this guy doesnt get into our midfield in our best 11....not even close

At his age Id be looking to make a very quick decision(next 12 months) whether he should be here or not......he has a lot to prove that he should be

He'll be here next year. We'd be without a point without him today. He is a net positive for the squad.

Most games I’ve seen him I’m always asking where is he? Then up he pops out of nowhere and scores then disappears again.
We need much much more from a player with that responsibility in that position.
Love the guy but we need far more than what he’s offering at the moment.

I'd genuinely move him this summer. If you can't win a tackle you can't play in this league. He's anonymous in games and popping up with the occasional goal means nothing if you're part of the midfield being bypassed every week.

He looks like an absolute dud to me and considering his age I dont see him magically improving.

Yeah, that’s true. Before his goal i was thinking i’d not seen him for 15 minutes. Neville was talking out of his arse giving him motm. The one thing i agreed with chuckle on though was that in a first half where we were playing with zero width he was the one player prepared to make runs in behind and that’s how his goal and the one Foden put wide came. Needs to do so much more in a game though.

Yeah, a lot of commentators and pundits are easily fooled by players that 'cover ground'. Reijnders runs a lot but he loses the ball far too much, and doesn't recover it nearly enough. As City fans, we have been blessed with great midfielders so we can always tell when a midfielder is not doing well. I expected so much from him because of how well he did during the CWC, but in hindsight, that tournament was a joke

He’s a 2nd striker for me.
Clearly a good eye for goal and a good finisher.
Hasn’t got the technique to play number 10 and he hasn’t got the physicality/awareness to play at number 8.
Bit of a problem really as I think he was signed to play number 8.

You've only just noticed this?
Seems a strange take when yesterday was probably the best he's played since the opening day.

Judging by his goal reaction he must be reading the comments about him on here(either that or he was in front of the away fans?)
Bad call from pep to take him off last night, wasn't exactly tearing it up but he was moving more than others

We seem to have an abundance of no 10's, second strikers etc. Only Rodri has the physical presence along with the skill. So we will constantly be bullied by Villa, Newcastle even Arsenal etc
