I think yall are overthinking this.

He isnt gonna play over Dias in the RCB spot, so thats out.

So the only spot is RB, and he isnt mobile or agile enough like Lewis or Nunes to perform that role either.

Its that simple.

If our back 4 purely became a back 3 with the RB at RCB like we did with Walker, he could play there.

But Pep isnt doing that with the RB anymore, they are inverted or wide and far more involved than what Khusanov can do.

Agile? Maybe not

Mobile? We'll he'd certainly smoke either in a race. He's rapid.

I know 100% I could beat Rico in a foot race, he's slow as fuck.

Dias has more experience than Khusanov and we need his physical presence in the middle. Khusanov also has more work to do on his passing, and without Haaland we have less need of a player at right back who can hit it long and more need of someone who already understands the possession system.

Gvardiol at LB and Khusnaov next to Dias is what we should be doing. We were so vulnerable down the flanks today. Neither Lewis nor O'Reilly are defenders, they can't defend or position themselves well.

Im not referring to pace.

Im talking about moving in small spaces and ball control and dribbling, Nunes and Lewis are better.

Like I said, if we wanted the RB to purely sit back in a back 3 then Khusanov is the choice.

But Pep isnt doing that.

Ironically I think you're overthinking it too.

He isn't playing because he's a kid.

End.

Uzbekistan man takes advantage of lonely pussy.

Grounds for deportation??
We are not as good on the ball when he plays .Fabulous defensive unit. Amazing acceleration and suddenness on defense. But on the ball, we struggle when he plays.

He'll get better. If he can improve his comfort on the ball to Dias levels, he'll be great next season. As he has qualities you cant teach.

Hasn’t Pep already said he’s not playing because he wants balance with two left footers now (O’Reilly and Gvardiol)? If so, I’d be inclined to order Khusanov to Dias but understand why not given there’s a bit of inexperience in there.

What exactly do you mean here?
"Wasn't great"
"Bad game"
"Mistakes"

Were did you see anything of the sort? at the game?

I was watching the stats on Fotmob. At half time he was the second highest.
His recovery remains excellent.
He has a powerful shot in him
He nearly made it to the goal line to stop the clown show by everyone else for the 1st goal
He got unfairly booked.
Was hooked at half time for tactics.

Was he motm? No. But he was more than acceptable.

Genuine question btw. What mistakes ?

Sorry I genuinely didn't see this post and now I can't remember the game that well lol wasn't trying to swerve your question!

People keep mentioning on starting Khusanov at right-back but he’s not gonna be playing in those high and wide roles that Nunes, Rico, NOR have been taking up.

Not an option - he can play as the RB when tucking in as the RCB in a three in possession but not as a wide outlet on the touchline.

I’d have actually argued he would’ve been a better bet than Dias to play against Palace with his ability to cut out the transitions with his pace - he also has a good ability with his box defending with Palace playing many balls across the six yard box in the early first half.

No doubts on Khusanov though maybe do him a bit of a favour getting used to the system before throwing him back in. It’s also good to have a bit of stability in defence (for once) with Gvardiol and Dias getting used to playing together. Next step: clean sheet?

What the hell has Khus done wrong to be dropped?! Surely a better option at RB than Rico?
He's done nothing wrong but we are in a high pressure situation in qualifying for the CL, experience was and is needed.

The recent international break did the lad no favours, he went back home and was treated like the second coming and maybe Pep wanted to bring him back to earth with a period out of the 11.

For me there is no question we have signed a great talent and a great character, he will become a huge part of our side in the future.
