As someone who was campaigning for us to go pay whatever it cost to get Van der Ver or whatever that dude's name at Tottenham... Seeing us going to get our own version pleases me so much.

If we can get a 2nd speedster defender, we can literally suffocate teams with our press knowing our CBs can run with anyone.

What has happened to Dias lately?

Dias has missed 18 games through injury this season, 13 PL games. He’s rusty as fuck.

I feel like our defenders are constantly being brought back into the fold before they’re fully fit. Maybe through their own selflessness to be there for the team and not wanting to let them down through absence, maybe through the management team demands, maybe a bit of both? But none of Dias Stones Aké or Akanji are lasting more than half a dozen games before breaking down again.

When they play, they are out of form, inconsistent, a bit erratic, don’t look fully fit or sharp.

You're spot on. As Steve Howey said ...."you're not back and properly fit until you have a 10 game run" ....'playing 2 miss a few' is no better than having them out for all those games.
That has been a bigger problem (you can add KDB & Foden to those above...and Walker) than not having Rodri ;)

I am one of Pep's supporters and aghast at some people having a go at him for one bad, injury affected season.
But for the love of God don't give Pep ideas. Let this lad just remain what he is, a strong, fast, capable defender, instead of being turned into a false inside right inverted midfielder or something.
