45 | Abdukodir Khusanov - 2025/26

Khusanov has all the attributes you want. Needs minutes to build up confidence and cut out rashness. Only concern was he had a few dodgy moments with bouncing balls he seemed to get stuck between heading or kicking clear or trying to control- that maybe lack of confidence. His passing looked fine apart from first 15 minutes of his debut.

I'm a tad confused. People are saying khusanov is crap on the ball. All of last season when we were attacking & the opposition were camped out in their own box, game after game Ruben was on the semi(fnar) circle of their box & we are expecting him to provide a killer pass?
Ruben is a defender he is not David Silva, khusanov is a defender he too isn't David Silva. Am I being dim here? We want defenders to defend & goalkeepers to keep out goals. It really is not rocket surgery.
We had Cancelo at left back who was immense on the ball and shipped goals and made mistakes in crucial CL matches. We replaced Cancelo with Ake at LB who wasn't anywhere near as good on the ball but was fantastic defensively especially in the treble winning season. A defender should be able to defend first and foremost.

Why don’t City to listen to all their fans who never played football at the top level? Discuss….

Why don’t we put Pep interviews and club PR releases on a loop and cut out all these useless threads? Think of the bandwidth that would be saved.

Discuss.

Really hope for him to make this one next step. He has it in him, he has quality, great potential. You hear about other names been linked out of the doors, but not Khusanov. So Pep wants him this season, there are plenty of games, hes gonna get his chance. Just recalled he scored already for us, a hilarious one but important (fa cup, Leroy Orient).

People must be watching a different player
His passing is very good for his age. And more importantly, not scared of passing crisply forwards into midfield, rather than sideways
He’ll surprise a lot of people next season imo

Only player not carrying a knock who wasn't used in a behind closed doors friendly . Club looking for a suitable loan before the window shuts.

I think the first mistake was as much Akanji’s cocking up as Khusanov.&
