45 | Abdukodir Khusanov - 2025/26

I just dont see it with this lad looks very raw, rash and prone to a mistake. Hope I am wrong but dont see him being the 1st choice CB for the next 5 years+

He was great when he had a run of games last season, especially again RM.. first45 yesterday I thought he was quality

If Stones can play at least half the PL and Cl... Dias can find some of his old form, and Gvad continues to improve... Pep sees what we see in Khus and puts Akanji deep on the bench... I'll be excited.

Another one for the future.
He's as strong as an ox and very intelligent.
His downfall is that he's a confidence player and looks a bit subdued after making any mistakes.
With experience he'll hopefully overcome that.
Although not the same type of player, Stones had a similar start for us then went on to become a fantastic CB for City.
Once Khusanov settles down I'm in no doubt he'll be a great asset for us

Think he will make mistakes as he does like a tackle and will have the rashness of youth but he he largely gets the timing right , is physically strong and has pace to burn. The rashness should disappear with game time and experience. Think he will develop into a top CB but don’t think he will be first choice above Dias and Gvardiol for a few seasons yet. I think his passing is decent as well. Time will tell.

Going to be annoying if after Pep has identified him as one of the fastest players he's ever seen, he brings on Akanji to see out games. Just to watch him lose a header then run through treacle trying to atone. As our keepers rounded and we've thrown away another lead.

Have you really just come on khusanovs thread just to shit on treble winning Akanji who has been nothing but reliable for us up until last season when he played for us whilst injured until he couldnt hold off surgery any longer?

We should have sold Akanji. We have had our moneys worth. I hope we don’t have to watch him much next season.

People are talking as though Nathan Aké doesn't play for us any more. Is there something I should know? In the ( admittedly highly unlikely) event that everyone stays fit, we've now got a cartload of centre-halves. True, Johnny may well be past that peak he was at in the treble season, same might go for Rúben, even assuming both of them stay fit. Aké? Always thought he was a terrific footballer, right from the start. But… when fit. And there lies the rub. Aké said before having surgery that his foot had been bothering him for months. I wonder if it hasn't been years. I'm completely convinced that Gvardiol is going to be a major defender for us, if he isn't already. Manu Akanji was a good workman in that general set-up. No more, no less. Still can be, alongside someone very, very steady, and a quick reader of the game. Good to have as back-up.
I expect Khusanov to be competing for a place in that back line this season. Oh, and what about that right-back spot, incidentally? He was bailing out Nunes on several occasions as it was.

If we are going to play high line, we need at last one CB with speed and they don’t come faster than Khusanov. Actually, I think Khusanov looks good in all aspects.

A privilege to witness the development of such a talent.
The opposition makes it difficult to judge too much, but Khusanov looked great against Palermo. We do need someone with his natural gifts at the back, but his positioning and passing looked really good too. He's 21, so lots to develop, but lots to be excited about.

Probably one of our best ever £ for£ signings as he was basically bought as cover ended up out performing our starting centre halfs and it became a case of who played with him.
Dipped last season but I also think Dias has too.
