45 | Abdukodir Khusanov - 2025/26

That's an impressive highlights reel. It appears he played left centre-back and it will be very beneficial to us if he can play on either side of the centre.

Mad how our squad went from last season being on its bare bones to this season having great competition for every starting spot, it's looking good at the moment

Just checked if he played today on bbc football results, he seems to have had a small rest- sent off on 69 minutes but don't know why, straight red.

Last man challenge apparently. Glad it is for his national side and not us. Sadly, he's got that in his game, goes all in too much. Doesn't need to most times either given his speed and power.

Does that mean he'll miss the first game of the world cup? Theyve qualified right?
It was well reported that Ronaldo was given 3 games for his red. He'll miss the first 2.

We don't yet know what size groups FIFA will be using, but Khus might not even play a single match in the finals, which would be heartbreaking for the lad. They might not bother taking him at all.

The Bigger Question is??

Will he be playing on Saturday??!! :0)
Unfortunately, this sliding type of challenge seems to be all too regular.
Pep won't be impressed, so these challenges will probably go against him getting a chance to cement a regular place.
Love his abrasive, aggressive attitude as seems a throw back to former City players e.g. Nicky Reid, Gerry Gow, Zabba.
But, with so many opposing divas and divers, he will be targeted...

Posted earlier about him not needing to make tackles that could get him sent off when he has such pace and power. I hadn't seen the red card at that point, this is the perfect example of exactly that.

What a stupid, braindead tackle. I'd be livid if he did something like that for us and it cost us, little doubt Pep would be too and he'd probably lose all trust in him for a while. All he had to do was run backwards instead of to the ball. He does the man for pace, gets himself goal side and the attacker probably recycles possession

Sadly he's too aggressive for today's game. Pretty sure he got subbed at Bournemouth in the cup last season for that reason. He got booked for his first foul when the ref had just spoken to Semenya for doing two. His head seemed to go a little bit. He'll learn

That was piss poor defending.
Pep will surely say "stay on your feet".

Red card vs Iran was a friendly - Ronaldo was a WC qualifier.

FIFA rule book Sept 2025 - Disciplinary Code:

P. 69 h: (Suspensions in) friendly matches: carried over to the representative team’s next friendly match."

Think he'll be suspended for 2 friendlies but defo not the World Cup!

Should just be one friendly, it was a red card for being last defender, not because it was a dangerous tackle.
