47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Just came to give a word of appreciation, fantastic second half, both "pre-assists" been harder and more important than assists and that not taking anything off O'Reilly's assist, which been really good

Is it me or is he playing more on the half turn than in previous seasons ? When it comes off he is unstoppable and can crack the midfield wide open . A thing of beauty to witness .

Am analysis of Phil.

"If you’re a regular listener to the Transfer Flow podcast or have otherwise followed my work elsewhere, one thing you’ll have realised about me is that I’m different. So, while most people who have followed Manchester City this season have been blown away by Erling Haaland’s insane start to the season (as have I – 23 goals in 13 games is just bonkers), entertained by Jérémy Doku’s dribbling or putting Tijjani Reijnders on Fraud Watch, Phil Foden’s work has attracted my attention."

I'm all for praising Phil Foden, but I stopped reading the article after the highlighted part appeared in the first paragraph.

You can read the rest, it's not bad. Tbf I'd say Reijnders has shown glimpses of being exceptional, which means when that doesn't happen people may question him. Enough of our fans are doing, so others will too I'm sure.

Turned into a flicks and tricks player.

We needed a man in midfield to step up now Kev has gone and this was his opportunity.

Looking a one season wonder at the moment.

No right foot, can’t pass. If he can’t turn and shoot you don’t get anything from him. Hopefully Cherki starts next game. In terms of creativity they are leagues apart

Never in a million years he Foden going to be able to get anywhere near the levels of David Silva, Kdb, Yaya et al.

Just never going to happen.

If he wasn't a blue, he would have a thread with hundreds of pages more than he currently has.

Been getting away with a lot in my opinion because too many view him through a blue tinted prism.

I think he should be moved out of the centre now and cherki be given a go. There's flashes of quality, but Phil is too inconsistent and he should be winning us games at this point in his career and he's just not. Its not like our right winger options are pulling up trees, phil on the right, Cherki in centre for a few games for me.

Phil Foden is a country mile behind competitors like Eberechi Eze and Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers is even better than him .
People are just happy because he looks at least interested this season.

Didn't look up for it from the start. First 5 minutes he had two opportunities to drive into 30+ yards of space in front of him in midfield and took neither. After that he didn't touch the ball for about 25 minutes it felt like.

That said, with our other attacking options, we should be passing Phil the ball every single opportunity as he has more end product than the rest combined.

Better when he plays deeper but couldn’t today because of injuries. However, there was no reason for him to be as poor as he was
