There’s been England chatter that he might not get picked! I have to say this Foden is the one of the only England players that’s been picked and not started in his position then gets judged on it by the media! It’s like telling Saka you’re playing left wing for the next 20 games for England!

I’ve checked the stats with foden and for England Foden has played 45 games for and played 10 times in his rightful place in tournaments it’s 1 that one he dominated the game! Southgate ruined him trying to fit in other players first!

In 23/24, Foden was mostly about goals. Last night, he scored 2 great goals but contributed much more than that: showed great work rate and was involved in the build up play and chance creation. World-class performance.

Having a great season. I actually think his general play and influence on games feels like it’s even better than his POTS season. Yes he scored a lot of goals, good goals, that season but I do think his all-round game might well be better.

I’d love to see a breakdown of his stats from that season to this like Opta did for Rodri here, see if my suspicions are right:
