Phil BTW is just a wondeful player, truly gifted but also works hard and demonstrates that he has been learning from the coaches and top class players he has worked with. Part of his game is reminding me so much of Gundo when he drops deeper.

My jaw dropped the first time I watched Phil play for the first team (US pre-season tour v Rags) and he has continued to fulfil the obvious promise. If he can keep improving...

My jaw dropped when chatting to his dad when Phil jnr was about 5 years old and he's playing on a car park on edgeley, from that moment I knew he was going to be a pro footballer.
Simply a brilliant kid

He’s not there to defend though. He’s still one of the most hardworking players in the team as well

As above de Bruyne and other attackers we’ve had weren’t there to defend

Solid pick. The set-piece responsibilities alone make him fantasy-relevant, and he appears self-assured once more. If the link-up with Cherki develops the way it’s starting to, that right side may provide a lot of chances. high ceiling if he maintains his fitness.
 
If we play with 2 6’s behind him and let him have free reign with some overlapping fullbacks I think we are laughing. He’s so good in the pockets and his passing can be great.

We just need more stability.

As far as natural talent goes foden is on a par with gazza and joe Cole who never really fulfilled his potential . Foden has the world at his feet he just has to believe in himself .

This video was doing my head in.

Phil has played most of the games in the middle, not on the wing this season.

This is clearly to glaze his recent 2 games as a RW and him scoring goals, fine. But we have also clearly been losing control of games by not having him purely in the centre in the buildup.

Then he says 2 seasons when he won pfa it was because he was a winger who drifted in the middle, but he played better when he started in the middle, he had 21ga in 36 games as winger, but 18ga in 15 games as a cam.

He then mentions last season when Phil had injury issues and the whole team clearly had a problem with most of the defense injured.

Really does baffle me how little football some of the people who make these sorts of videos seem to watch. Phil's been brilliant on and off ball in the midfield this season and has better defensive stats than tijani in most games. People under rate his physicality and versatility.

Completely agree on the RW thing - we miss him a lot in the build up and his work rate off ball too
