47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Un-used sub. You have to wonder where his WC chances lie now? I know a lot of people think he's not even close, but I do think Tuchel likes him.
Hot take, I'm not sure he deserves to go to the world cup tbh. He has about 2 months top form in 2 years.

Luckily for him Rogers is fading a little, so maybe that gets him back into consideration.

Doesn’t bode particularly well for him that Reijnders (who has been mostly awful) was ahead of him in the pecking order when NOR went off.

He's very fortunate that Palmer, Eze, Rogers(lately, etc., all guys that play in his position or similarly, have been pretty poor, too.

Playing him into form didn't work for some reason. Must be wrapping him in cotton wool for reasons we don't know. Hel be back

Worrying signs when pep brings on savinho who hasn't kicked a ball for 2/3 months in a false 9 ahead of phil
I was saying this after Guardiola brought on both Savinho and Reijnders. Foden is way down the pecking order and must be fed up with things at the minute.

The last 3 subs I thought would go on were Savinho, Reijnders and Ake.

Where does he fit into this system?

He's not going to one of the front two.

The only options look to be in place of Bernardo or Cherki and he's not on the ball enough for that role

Apart from probably about 10-15 games in 2 years he has been well off it.

If he wasn't one of our own many would probably be happy to sell him on.

Only one year left on his deal after this season as well and I cannot see the club giving him a pay rise whilst the rest of the squad being happy about it.

He will be going into the £300k a week territory.

i want to see him back at his best. On his day he’s one of the best in the league and it would be such a shame not to see that again.

Most city fans want to see one of our own back in the side and winning us games

Huge couple of months now for Phil - he and we want him to show he warrants a big new contract which will see him play for us throughout his prime. But the club seem to have adopted a new hardline approach - KDB zero sentiment and seemingly Stones. Which makes sense. So i cant see us giving Phil a huge new deal based on a good 6 weeks in 2 seasons nor can i see us risking on missing out on a big fee in the summer. Is there even an argument he needs a change to reiginate his career a bit? World cup isnt happening for him as it stands i dont think. Either way it feels like a huge few weeks for him.

Phil’s best season was when Gundo left. Finally he got to play a season in his best position. He was PL Player of the year. Imagine just how gutted he must have been when Gundo came back.

He doesn't look well at all in this most recent picture from a few days ago. The weight loss is a bit frightening. He looks as skinny as he did when he was first breaking through as an 18-year-old a few years ago.

I've been hearing on and off for a while now that he's dealing with quite significant gastric issues, IBD/colitis, that sort of thing. The weight he's lost between 2024 and 2026 hasn't been that obvious until now.

I could be noticing something that's not there but I've dealt with something similar to IBD/colitis and it really is such a tough thing to get a handle on. Trying to up the calories while trying to avoid flare-ups, it's horrendous.

As a medical professional I don't wanna guess but if it is what you think it is.. it can take a long time to get better.

Hope he gets the best care. Wish him the best.
