47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

He came on with urgency, hopefully he’s back by the time we play Chelsea

Very unfortunate not to score one maybe two, he looked much more like the old Philip Walter.

I’d be tempted to start him v Palace.

Pep too will be tempted to start him vs Palace. Cherki can't start in all of the next 3 games anyway. Bernardo too. Pep will have to rotate. Better to experiment with Phil vs Palace than vs Chelsea. If he plays very well vs Palace, then a start at Wembley becomes likely.

Agree on Cherki but I think Bernardo will start every game, Pep doesn’t rest him lightly and when he did (FA Cup semi) he was forced to bring him on anyway! Haha.

Yeah I think he’ll come in for cherki or semenyo on Wednesday. Both been quiet in last few and pep seemed enthused by fodens last couple of cameos

Even Bernardo will struggle to put in 3 top performances within 150 hours or so.

Maybe there are no other issues and it was just the contract. We’ve seen it plenty of times, players aren’t doing much then they sign a new contract and their form improves

Some save by Kelleher to deny him. Save of the season

It's definitely more than the contract. He's lost pretty much all the muscle he built up over the last few years. Not that he was in danger of being called hench or anything but physically he looks like he did when he was 17.

Might help him to dribble about like he used to

His best form this season was when himself and Cherki were interchanging in between RW and 10 positions. Doku got injured and he was shoved over to the left and that’s when his form dipped. Would love for him and Cherki to start in the final.

He looked decent when he came on yesterday and I thought he looked OK when he came on the game before. Hopefully he can get back to his best. It's great watching Foden when he's playing well.

Can someone clarify what foden’s ‘off field issues are?’ podcasts and interviews mention something going on but no one ever says

I know things have a habit of leaking out, but ideally off field issues should be private unless a player decides themselves to go public with it.

Great to see him playing well again.
