You are having a hard time accepting the reasoning behind Mario's departure, am I right? ;)

It may have been a way for Txiki and Ferran to flex their muscles a bit, to show the manager that what he wanted is not more important than what they wanted. Roberto is an employee of lower rank than the executives.

I take for granted, that what the Sheikh and our chairman gave Ferran when he was hired, was nothing but full and absolute control. Obviously Soriano has a lot of trust in Txiki whom he recruited and gave a leading position at the club, based on the past.

Mario was sold for all the right reasons I think, and if we get the media-reported fee we should be very pleased with that.

We will still be left a striker short , though.

In reality we have been a striker short all season based on what we got out of him who has now gone
Not being a Balo hater here, but this comment is pretty accurate really. Mario hasn't done anything worth writing home about this season. on this years form, we are not losing a 20 goal a season striker.

On the subject of bringing in someone from the "Top Draw", I doubt we have the time. (not the money or the knowhow or the attraction) but actually putting a deal together.

To force a sale through, you firstly need the player to declare he wants to come and then make waves at his current club, otherwise you are fighting two battles. I don't think we have courted anyone to turn their head as we stand at the moment.

Is he willing to help Mancini now ?

Or he wants him to fail this season so he can bring his friends in the summer and have a full control ?

Maybe you are right, but do you think it is the right time to flex their muscles now ?

City without a doubt now weaker without Mario.

with 20 million to spend after selling ballo, we can't buy a player who will help to win the tittle.
with that money+after selling dzeko in summer we can buy cavani or falcao and PL will be guaranteed.
or buy benteke or old enough villa or a player who has played well in a little team and hope that he will do that here too. but like sinclair if he wouldn't we will have to throw this 20 million out after 6 months..
buying villa isn't an option because we need striker who will play alongside aguero for 4-5 years and make one of the best attacks in the world. falcao/cavani/jovetic. i see only them doing this and with 20 millions it's impossible to buy them.
this year we have squad which is strong enough to fight for tittle +for cup. we should save that money for summer transfers.

Agreed don't see us being in a much weaker position without Mario on this seasons performances or lack of

Unless Guidetti is ready sticking with 3 strikers is pretty much conceding the title.
