5 academy kids in the team last night

What, the fact that they have had an academy player in their ranks since Queen Victoria was a lass?

Could also be that their recruitment is wank and they keep having to plunder their youth team for players that aren’t quite ready because the senior players keep failing.

Just a thought;)
Leave them to it. It's obviously working wonders for them.

I like Savage. He's fair minded about City IMO.

The stuff about united was a bit over mentioned but the jest was they are miles behind us even though its an incredible fact that they have.
He did actually fight our corner against that dick Dempsey later on when discussing our status as one of the favourites for the competition, if not the favourite. The utd academy stuff was a bit "wtf", though, considering it was a Citeh match.

Horrible commentary, and it's not just last night. We really are hated by the media.
tbf the rags and dippers are their bread and butter, theyve been on free joly ups and getting paid for years to feed the idiots everything they want to hear and this is basically showing their whole profession is nothing more than a paid sham its no surprise they hate us.

Truly horrendous last night.
I wasn't listening last night properly before kick off but did he say we had lost our last 3 Premier games?
Then we had john stones captaining city
Then we had massive long periods of silence (probably the best bits to be fair)
Then we had the debacle of why city were not his favourites. The fact he gave was that anything can happen in a semi final!

So go on who are your favourites then? Surely if anything can happen in a semi final it can happen to anyone....or did he actually mean liverpool were his favourites as they arenhis favourite team and was actually scared to say it?
Then we got no after game interviews.

Amazing

Yes Mr Savage was quick to mention that it's been 4,364 games with a kid in the squad, even though it was City he was watching and 5 academy players at that.

That 4,364 games stat is so distorted though. It's suggests they have a prodcution line of Academy players coming through season after season. All they had was a fluke in 1992 where 5 or 6 quality players came through in the same season, and some stayed their whole careers. Now, they just stick any old academy player on the bench, so they can keep it going. If it was 4.364 games since they had 5 academy players in the starting 11, then I'd be impressed.
