5 Away on the bounce

Think you are thinking of around 1988 when we were supposed to play Plymouth in cup on Tuesday and again in the lwague. Tuesday got called off late in the day and was rearranged for the next day. Many fans had almost made it to Plymouth before it was called off so came home. Went back the next day and then returned on the Saturday. Shamefully I can only admit to going to the league game as was away with work during the week and couldn't make the cup games
Almost correct!
Ipswich 2nd division on the Saturday
Plymouth League Cup Tuesday (called off at 5pm)
Plymouth League Cup rearranged Wednesday
Plymouth 2nd Division Saturday

I went on one of the two supporters buses on the Tuesday that turned back at Taunton, and went down again on the Saturday.
Swales gave a certificate to those fans doing all 4 trips on the OSC buses

6 'away' from home in a row in 2021 but 4th was Wembley the rest were closed doors or home fans only.

Did Ipswich, think that was the game Bill Williams made his debut. WTF were we thinking signing him

Did em all. Ipswich in the back of a ford escort van tho! Happy days! Coach for the Plymouth games.

I did them all too. Train for Ipswich (stayed in Norwich on the Friday and Saturday night, travelled home on the Sunday), coach for the League Cup x2 and minibus for the league game.

I suppose, to be fair (and boring), two of those were cup games that could have been home games. And the Arsenal game was rearranged from earlier in the season.

Did all 5 and feel and look like a shell of a human. I have basically been either pissed, hungover or shattered for about two weeks (shouldn't have stayed out after Villa at home in retrospect). Went to Spurs away the week before too.

Only thing I can compare it to was West Ham, CSKA Moscow, Chelsea and Newcastle away in a row in October 2013, that was 4 games in 11 days from memory.

And in the run in 2019 after the last international break we had Fulham away, Cardiff home, Brighton at Wembley, Tottenham away CL, Palace away, Tottenham home CL, Tottenham home, United away, Burnley away within a month which although wasn't consecutive aways has to be the most intense set of games in a short period of time I've ever felt. I'll follow them everywhere.
