5 coaches of munich fans

Proper belly laugh at "donner und blitzen."

Quality stuff, great memories. Hunting those out at the weekend.

Without even a hint of sarcasm, I still do occasionally. There are hundreds in the loft. Jerry, Fritz, Kraut... Schnell, Achtung, Hande Hoche! That's the extent of my German vocabulary.

Surely 'Gott in Himmel' & 'Donner und Blitzen' must be in your vocab as well?

For you Tommy ze var is over.....!

I've been here since 1984 and I'm still waiting for someone to say "Donner und Blitzen" !
It's a bit like the jocks never saying "Och aye the noo" !

At the ground by 11. Walking about freezing, hailstone, gale force winds and piss wet through. Welcome to Manchester.

Mind you, Munich in December is hardly the Copacabana

You're not kidding. The temperatures in Munich in winter would freeze the balls off a granite bear !
Doubtless they'll all be in the pubs by now anyhow.

You must have inherited the famous German sense of humour. The subject was old Commando war comics. Keep up.

My ow'd fella was about 67ish and the hotel breakfast terrace overlooked the pool. The rep told them that hotel rules were that no towels were to be put down until the pool attendant had finished cleaning round the pool area at breakfast time otherwise towels would be removed and left at reception for collection later in the day. (Obviously they'd had complaints). After 3 days the brits were getting pissed off as others were not following the rules and the attendant wasn't removing the towels, so on the 4th day dad went along the line of sunbeds, removed each towel and threw them all in the pool to a huge round of cheering and clapping from the brits up on the terrace having breakfast. The problem was solved, nobody dared put their towel down then walk off for the rest of the holiday.
