After reading that I don't think it's particularly bad for Stones.

To be honnest it’s clear to me the guy has been the architect of his own downfall
It’s a similar story to martial
They get the big move, come with childhood sweetheart then get sucked into the clubbing, cheating and believing their own hype.
Then the fall from grace happens because they can’t focus because of the shit they created around themselves
I really hope he has now turned a corner and can maintain his form as it makes us so much stronger having him, ake Dias and Laporte fighting for the cb spot

Reading that, I feel like it’s a good thing for Stones. Might keep him grounded and focused. I feel he’s probably wised up to this exact thing over the last few months and is the reason he’s doing so well.

He should keep it bookmarked and have areas from time to time just to make sure he doesn’t go off track again.

I dont think your characterisation really fits - for a start Stones best 2 years of his career were after he moved to City.

I think he just realised he didn't want to marry his school girlfriend but felt he had to stick with her because of the kid, ended up having an affair with the girl he's with now which was stupid but doesn't suggest he was really living the high life and clubbing every day.

His poor form really happened after he decided to leave and there was a lot of mess. IIRC he had her entire family on his payroll and was supporting them, they had a child custody battle, dispute over the house etc.

That's when his form tanked, and Pep even had to remove him from a squad because he was preoccupied with a court hearing coming up.

Seems like everything has settled down now and he has put it behind him. I dont think the ex selling her story for a front page on the Sun reflects particularly well on her and hopefully he can brush it off.

Really pleased for Stones proved against the Rags he can still do it against quality forwards , the only issue is Laporte who hasnt let anyone down is resigned to the bench and i dont think he is the type of player to hang around as a squad player he is far too good for that. If Pep is now becoming a defensive type of coach perhaps maybe three at the back , two wing backs and a two defensive midfielders will get us a load more clean sheets

If Stones maintains his good form I doubt it'll be long before we offer him an extension as his current contract ends after next season.

There’s barely any creativity in that team at all. It’s alright getting clean sheets and missing chances now, but getting clean sheets and creating no chances isn’t what we’re going for I don’t think.
