Pep has always said that he is only as good as his players, which is very true. Possession based football has always been the best for the sides that Pep has been in charge of since 2016, when he arrived, the proof is in the amount of trophies we have won and the amount of goals we have scored and the amount of points we have accured over his tenure.

I don't know what you are explaining that to me for because I have never called for Peps head, I did however say we are boring at times.

Best stick to the way we have been going this season because we should be jolly well happy with it and like it :)

In the short time he was fit, he showed that he's still our best defender, so I hope he isn't sold in the summer

More than any other player, he needs to be given time to recover properly
8 seasons he has had to get fit, and the club must have done everything possible to get to the root of the issues, they haven't and it won't happen.

So you either let him see out his contract or let him go in the summer.

According to here...

He's had 20 injuries since he's been with us (this latest one doesn't seem to be included on there). An awful lot of them appear to be non contact injuries, which suggests an underlying issue. If an opposing forward decides to leave one on you, there's not a lot you can do about that. But there's a lot of muscular type injuries on that list (groin, hamstring, "muscle injury" etc).

A great player and our best defender when fit, but he's deffo a sicknote.

If the decision is made that he stays for his final year, he needs to be shut down now.
Get him healed up and ready for pre-season.

I never said that you have called for Pep's head, but a growing number are. He has forgotten more than any of us know about the game. As for being boring, are you talking about this season or all the season's that Pep has been here when we have been one of the best sides in the world. This team has got old together, especially the midfield area and therefore have really struggled with the pace of the game. Pep has finally admitted this, like you say he probably should have started this rebuild in the summer, everybody makes mistakes but I for one back this manager to get it right. We should all be patient and back the club to get this rebuild right.

Sell him to Arsenal for £150 million.

:)

He's very unlucky with the injuries. I thought we'd have a Gerrard situation where after a couple of years he'd have grown out of them. Sadly that's not the case.

He has always had mechanical issues. Some players have them, others don’t.

Remember Jack Wilshire? You just had to look at him to know he was going to have mechanical issues…and they cut his career very short. Constantly struggling to get fit.

The mechanics of the human body are delicate for top athletes, as they’re an entire system that has to operate in balance. Sadly, even the human has no idea where the imbalance is, so they usually have no idea how to fix it. Other times, it’s clear there’s a problem in one area, which you “fix” but it unbalances the entire rest of the system. It’s like a game of “Whack A Mole.”

I wish him nothing but the best, but as I said during the game when he went down, “I think I just saw John Stones’ last game in a City shirt.”

It might be the sad end to what was an outstanding career, that could have thrust him to the very top echelons of the game’s history, but for his injuries. Even so, he’s tasted highs few have tasted and looks to have carried a very happy and spirited personality throughout all of his personal and professional ordeals.

My very best to Johnny, Johnny Stones and a special thought for @Eccles Blue today.

Or Darren Anderton, who had the nickname "sicknote".

Stick an England shirt on him every game in that last comp I think ;-)
Have to be honest here; if that quote attributed to him, about his ambition now being to reach 100 caps, is genuine, I'm not overly impressed with it. Don't get me wrong, I can fully understand it. It's every player's ambition to play for his country. And to do it 100 times must be a real buzz. But surely, his ambition must be to get himself back to a level of fitness where he can turn out more than just sporadically for his employers?

It's such a shame because when he is fit he is a superb player.

Yes, I'm saying we we see his contract out and in the meantime try to get the most we possibly can from him, because he's an outstanding footballer

Highly strung, tall drinks of water are sometimes stretched beyond the capacity of their kinesthetic ability.

Sadly, I know too much about this as I had similar issues when I played. The doctors told me I had back issues and other mechanical issues (fairly pronounced over pronation) that were throwing my lower extremities out of balance.

I have had back issues my entire adult life (my father had to have surgery on his) and ended up doing left knee ligaments (no surgery needed), left ankle ligaments, tore my right quad taking a shot, and, to quote KDB, had a right hamstring that was “made out of wet paper.”

I only played professionally in the State for three years, with the quad injury being the final straw for me. Thankfully, having seen the pro game from behind the scenes from an early age, I had an education to fall back on. Thankfully for Johnny Johnny Stones, he has already earned more money than 99.999% of the world could ever dream of!

Gutted - you always know it’s round the corner with Stones.

I don’t actually think we’ve seen the last of him though. No other clubs is paying his wages or taking a risk on him with his fitness record. I think he’s going to see his deal out personally. I think he’ll be absolutely desperate to stay

Not exactly as quoted i don't think - sounds like he was asked does he want to reach 100 caps, as Kane just had, and he said yes (no one is going to say no, are they?)

That remark was Walker not Stones if my memory serves me right.

Now now @Eccles Blue will get offended and tell you to jump in a lake.
I am beyond being annoyed on John Boy’s behalf. I will just stay loyal to a player who put his all in to his career at our club. His injuries are injuries that could have happened to anyone. As I’ve said many times he does not go out onto the pitch saying I will get injured now!!

So I shall just retire into the corner of the room to grieve in peace and quiet for a City player who deserves our support.

Thank you @ChicagoBlue for your thoughts. :-)

(Tongue in cheek time)
*sits sobbing quietly in the corner of the room*
