5 | John Stones - 2025/26

Our injury record can’t be just bad luck. There’s been something seriously wrong over the last couple of years. Currently Stones, Cherki, Foden, Gvardiol, Kovatic, Savinho (allegedly) off the top of my head. And nearly all our injuries seem to happen in between matches. Something not right at all

The current situation within the defence is remarkable. Last season was bad, this season will be worse. Stones is too injury prone, same with Ake, loss of Akanji and the uncertainty in the right back position. Long season ahead.

Least we brought in 3 goalkeepers.

I think his best days are behind him. Certainly in terms of reliability.
I know , injuries cripple him can't get a run in the side without breaking down when you miss the number of games he did last year with tissue injuries the main one being a hamstring where is missed more than 3 months of action at his age you know his playing time will be limited.

The fact Pep played him in the first 3 games and clearly he was struggling especially in the last half against Brighton shows how brittle we are in the back with Dias all over the shot , no key right back and dodgy at the left back position as well.

We won't win many games this season if we concede 2 in a game and Stones would need to be fit and firing to give us a chance to keep the opposition below that target and its not likely he will be.

Tough times ahead.
