5 Live 7.30pm. 1hr City special

I've not listened to this yet, but what was the deal about not selling the ground out?

We averaged over 47,000 this season. The other thing is that with some clubs taking reduced allocations, there's probably more blues in the ground than ever before.

Are they talking about people with ST who don't turn up? If so, maybe the ridiculous kick off times for TV purposes contribute. As someone else pointed out, there's always pockets of empty seats for "sold out" premier league games.

Not incomprehensible at all really.

There are plenty about who can afford to chuck 6, 7 or 800 quid at a season ticket and then just pick the games they can be arsed to turn up to.

Well said 80s Shorts. you are probably right. No doubt some of them will be on here in a few minutes saying they have much more interesting lives than everyone else Lol.

I just hope that we soon emulate the Bayern system of ending season cards for people who leave seats empty for half or more of the season.

I didn't realise they did that. Good system imo.

But how does that stop you giving / selling your ticket to your mates?
The second they click thru the turnstile the ticket owner is registered as 'attended'.

What happens if you are unfortunate enough to have a serious illness that causes you to miss half of the games that season? Or you get posted abroad for 6 months with work?

No system is infallible.

Bayern Munich to Revoke Season Tickets if Holders Don’t Attend Games

Bayern Munich isn’t too happy with some of the club’s season ticket holders and have threatened to take away their seats if they don’t start showing up to home matches. The club stated that it will revoke the tickets of any supporter who doesn’t show up to at least eight of the team’s 17 home games each year at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Munich sound like UEFA, trying to tell people how they should spend their money.

Yes sharing tickers with mates is fine. The system is designed to stop
Tickets going to waste / empty seats.

The Club would let people who had been very ill to keep their tickets. There wouldn't be thousands in this situation either

But why does it happen to us more than any other club?

Im not sure that it does.

However, if you want reason then maybe it is because we play the most exciting football in the country and have a squad filled with world class players.

Plenty of wadded people that will chuck a few hundred quid for the privilege of going to that when they want.
I'm not really sure that it happens to us exclusively either. I think it was bit of a myth, started off by the Rags as a stick to beat us with and as time has gone on others have just taken it to be true.
A classic case of if you repeat a lie enough times it becomes the truth,.

Munich listened to their 10,000 fans on their season card waiting list and other members. We could learn a thing or two from Bayern.
