I was going over the Hughes interview with the OS and while I thought 5 players(4 now) seemed high, Hughes says it looks like we will be carrying 30 players this year. Right now there are 31 players in the first team squad(on the OS), that includes Jo and Hart so 29 plus Adebayor is 30, now I would be shocked if at least 4 players didn't leave(Evans has pretty much gone)

We played 56 matches last season i think? Even if we get to both of the cup finals we won't play anywhere near that many. Really we shouldn't pick up as many injuries as last season, plus the sqaud would have been stronger anyway with Johnson, Bojinov and Petrov hopefully all back to full fitness even without the new signings. Overall we should stay fresher, fewer matches, they will all complete a full pre-season as well.

So really, a couple of defenders and i think we're sorted, then if we get into Europe next season the squad will need more depth, but right now midfield and strikers look fine to me.

my agent mate has heard we are still after 5 players including adebayor/frontman. Wonder who the other 4 are. Lescott plus terry/top centre back. And two more? Maybe a centre mid, left winger or a right back.
I'll take a punt on lecott, toure, maicon, adebayor and robben before the window shuts.

adebayor in that's 1 out of the 5. 4 more to go.

Bombo is not itk, he's the same one who said we'd get Elia, someone else and Gabriel Heinze which are all wrong.

Have never claimed to be Itk. A good friend of mine is an agent and he hears about some of the enquiries we make because of his job although he largely deals with 1st and 2nd division players he does have a lot of contacts higher up in the game. So before you accuse me of whatever it is you think I'm guilty of I only post the info he gives me. Also may I add if we sign 7-10 players this summer we have probably enquired about 30 or so to check availability, fee, wages etc so we have options if one target fails to materialise.
Finally he told me heinze was the back up plan to lescott so now he has gone to marseille I presume we must be confident of securing lescott.
