52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Feels a bit cautious, playing within himself. Probably needed to do more with his chance yesterday, didn’t make much of a case to be in the first team

Needs a full season ..but that's a boring thing to say. Improve his pressing. Hit it (unless haaland is around then just pass it to him). He tends to look up when in the box which is an underrated skill.

He is a good young player who is a decent squad player. I’m not sure why he is so overhyped. You would think he was Messi’s younger brother the way people go on about him.

Good to see a youngster getting selected regularly but he looks a long way off the golden boy that some would have us believe. Busy but completely ineffective against Huddersfield.

Time is on his side though.

So much better than Savinho, even if you don't think Bobb is all that, it's his right hand side to lose (if we don't play Bernardo)

It's still up in the air, his positioning defo helped caused the own goal.

But it's still Bobb vs Savinho, neither is anywhere near nailed on like Doku.

Savinho played 2 games in a week after coming back from injury. Not really fair to judge him as if he's at top form.

He's probably ahead of Bobb in the pecking order as he's got 28 G/A in 2 seasons in la liga and the PL.

Which is fair enough, its exciting to have both players as a blue.

What did he do? It was an OG if you didn’t know. He literally is a bench warmer while savinho came back from injury and is already starting

The movement created the goal. But anyway, you are free to disagree with my opinion which is based on more than the last 90 minutes of football.

Bobb has like 1500 of football in his whole career so it doesn’t really strengthen your argument but it’s fine. Different players different rules I guess

Sometimes the more you see a player the more you know their limitations.

The more I see Savinho, the more I know he's very limited on the right in our (traditional) system. More minutes isn't necessarily a good thing.

What I've already seen of Bobb means that I know he is suited to a traditional Pep system. Whether he goes on to be amazing is a totally different thing to whether he should get the chance. I feel if he doesn't get the chance to play a lot of games for us this year, it will be a mistake, because he could become very good for us. But, yes, he has few minutes so will have ups and downs this season. We have no idea if he can be consistent (at the moment we've seen enough to know that Savinho can't be).

This doesn't mean Savinho can't be a good player for us though. Games where we play on the counter may suit him, a run of games playing on the left may suit him.

We should learn not to judge young players too soon. This is as true for Oscar Bobb and Savinho as it was for Doku.
All the forwards will face serious competition for places, next year, as Echeverri, Mukasa, McAidoo and others join the fold.

I think that position is still up for grabs. Bobb slightly ahead of Savinho in that he seems to make the better decisions. The goal today was misfortunate for Burnley as ball had gone past Bobb. However, Bobb was there, whereas Savinho seems to be on the periphery of decisive moments like these.
We were blessed with the likes of Mahrez and no one is currently comparable to him.
I can see Bobb and Savinho battling it out until there becomes a clear winner between the two.
