52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Felt like he tried to dribble a little TOO much.

There were a lot of times I saw 2 or 3 bodies back post and I thought

"Bobb is cutting... now cross! Stop dribbling 2 players"
Yep. Was lively when we were on top but was trying to do too much when a simple pass was on.
Hopefully he'll be shown where he went wrong and improve into the player we hope he can be.

Still thought he was impactful. Seems involved in most of our goals. I for one am excited about him and looking forward to what he can do this season.

He has the same problem the rest of our kids have…the side they are coming into. Look at side that Foden and Lewis broke into. They were able to come into a dominant team, play a couple of games and then disappear for a few weeks…no pressure. We are now needing the likes of Trafford, Oreilly, Bobb etc to come into the side and be the saviours. It’s completely unrealistic and that’s on the club/manager with what has become the abysmal recruitment of senior players.

Academy bias at it's best. He has the technical ability, but if he was called Jeremy Doku or Savinho our fans would want him sold. Shouldn't be starting for us if we want to challange for top 4.

He is 22 years old and has what, 1 goal and 1 assist in the PL ever? It's a make it or break it season for him. People were saying he is better than Rodrygo. In other news, Hojlund is better than Haaland ;).

Real mixed bag. He's got fantastic feet and has moments where the timing and weight of his pass is sublime. Then he runs down a blind alley 3 times in a row and he presses with zero energy.

He has had very little game time, give the lad a chance to get up to speed
He’s not suddenly getting faster and stronger. He’s too weak, every team in the league now is packed with physical specimens that are throwing Bobb about. Probably be fine in any other league

Would he start for Liverpool?
Would he start for Arsenal?
The answer is surely no. Why does he start for us? We are fast becoming a team that accepts second best starters. Not a slight on Oscar Bobb this just an opinion.

Over saka or salah probably not right now. In a few years, yes. He’s a brilliant young player, who needs time to develop.

Unless you only want ready made players? (Which we’ve never really had)

Clearly a good player. But him, Doku and Savio are the same might be good/might not be good - we can’t carry 3. There should be 1 of them and the rest of the front line money time players

Appreciate that but these days if you stand still you regress. Like I say not a slight on Oscar but in the here and now he should be playing one in five and gradually bedding in

What do you mean if you stand still? We’re giving a talented young winger a chance, is that not trying something different.

Do you want us to spend 100m on a new winger, as there’s not guarantee they’d be any good either. (Not having a go by the way)

Picking this fella is an implicit acceptance that we're going to do a Chelsea and accept a midtable finish in order to bed in some talent which may be good enough in 2-3 years.

Not just Bobb, tbf, but he's the only one who's played all 3 games.
