Well done mate
Quick story. Stuart Pearce, last game ever. Pompey at Maine Road. He needs 1 goal to reach 100 in his career.
I put £1 on him to score first goal and City to win 4-1 and the same on him to score the last and City to win 4-1. Both bets similar odds to yours.
5 mins to go. city 3-1 up and you almost get the impression that the referee and even the Pompey players are willing SP to score (he hadn't scored the first by the way!)
Sure enough we get a dubious penner. Beasant in their goal is telling SP to put it in the bottom coener to his right hand. he puts it to Beasnt's right alright, straight into the crowd in the Platt Lane, infact almost right at me. My mates who were on a free nights beer if I struck lucky didn't know whether to laugh or cry
Shortly afterwards I wrote to SP wishing him all the best in the future and sent him my betting slip asking him to note my bets! I also said could you suitably endorse it (the slip) and send it back to me, which he did!
His endorsement "I owe you a goal!" was a bit lame but all credit to him
for taling the trouble.
Enjoy your winnings!!

-- Sat Apr 03, 2010 7:26 pm --

Well done mate
