Don't think so, the majority of his appearances for the Dutch he has played left back.
I believe Aké will be used as left back when we face the best attacking teams as he’s our best option from a defensive standpoint. It’d be very hard for any team to penetrate a backfour of Aké - Laporte - Koulibaly - Walker.
We’ll probably also use him quite a bit as an option for Rodri when we need to up our speed in midfield. Think he would be excellent in midfield. Aké wins like 75% of all ground duels which is really impressive.

He’s played 9 games at left back and 4 at centre back, but he’s spent more games on the bench. He’s not first choice in either position for the Oranje. Be interesting to see how we use him.

I think it's more a case that he's too good to leave out of the first XI but not good enough to replace Van Dijk or De Ligt in the middle.

In recent years, van Aanholt and Blind have played there, and I suppose Wijndal looks more threatening in an attacking sense.Who's he competing with at left back?
