Is more physical and aggressive than our other centre halves, sensibly so, unlike Otamendi at times. Stones at times looks apologetic when he’s in a physical duel, Ake seems to relish those battles. Was really comfortable on the ball, loved the signing from the outset, not seen anything tonight to suggest he won’t be a real top signing.

Cool as you like, and for all the doubters he seemed decent enough in the air. Will we see him alongside Laporte? Seems a shame for him to be on the bench once he’s back.
